I need to add Remote Access function in our PBX, so some employees can call IDD phone at home by dial in our PBX. I define the ext.200 as the remote access port. When I try to dial 200 in the company with an extension, it succeeded. But when I dial 200 via outside line, the system told me that she couldn't tranfer the call.We had one Audix system in our PBX, and I have added the subscriber of 200.
Our system information is:
PBX System:G3siV5+m
Software: G3V6i.03.1.230.8
Teminal Type: 513

I would advise that you read the security manual when setting up this feature.

Zhang,

Remote Access would return intercept tone vs. a recorded announcement on a failed call attempt. I also don't think this has anything to do with your Intuity (remote access has nothing to do with Intuity).

Make sure your remote access COR is set to allow outbound calls. Verify the EXPIRATION DATE and NUMBER OF CALLS fields are valid. And you should use both barrier codes and authorization codes (or you'll be chasing toll fraud before you know it!).

Good Luck, WHCARon

I agree with GAZ69. You need to read your security manual. Remote acces can open a big hole for toll fraud.

I am not sure what you are tring to accomplish.
What is an employee calling into you PBX to get?

GAZ69, I also agree with you. I know that is very dangerous, but some guys need to call IDD conference call at home at night via our company PBX. I will use both barrier codes and authorization codes.

WHCARon, I think the COR,EXPIRATION DATE AND NUMBER OF CALLS of the remote access are all right, because I can call ext.200 with internal extension successfully. When I try to call it from external telephone, the system always tell me she couldnn't tranfer the call to ext.200. I think I should do something with our Audix system. Because when we call into our company, the Audix system will get the phone call firstly and then she will transfer the call to the extension automatically.
Thanks,

Long

I would NEVER implement remote access on a system that I had control over. Calling cards can be used at the same rate as the company LD, and the carrier will monitor their usage for you. As a matter of fact, they will even disable cards automatically if they suspect fraud (usually at less than a few hundred dollars).

I haven't worked a remote access fraud case where the carrier turned service off before there was $12K in LD charges.
