Greetings All,
am going to set up a win 2k3 server at for an client. The client machines all run xp pro. They have one outstation about 10km down the road that they would like to allow access to a folder containing workplace policies and documents that will be stored on the server.
I need to allow the remote workers in the other building access this folder but Only that folder, don't want them wandering around the server.
Both building use ADSL to access the big wide world.
The server will be running win 2k3 no exchange.
Thought of setting up a ftp server but i beleive that it a bad idea to have an ftp server and a dc on the one machine.
any other ideas how to let these people into that folder?

This would be best addressed in the Windows Server forum...

That being said, I would say that of all your options, FTP would be most secure. Since you're trying to grant access to your DC in any case, FTP uses the most restriction. I believe your only other option is file/folder sharing with NTFS security.

D'oh Sorry about that didn't realise i was still in the Exchange area when i posted the question.
Will go sit in the corner now and think about what i've done
Regards
Max
PS. Thanks for the confirmation about FTP will give it a go.
