Hi all...Thanks in advance for any help you can offer...

I have several users who connect to the Exchange server via Outlook 2000 or XP through a VPN...It seems that Outlook is always trying to sync with the Exchange server and they are unable to get anything done...

Is there anything in Outlook I can set to reduce this time?...Or reduce when it decides to sync?...

Any advice on remote Outlook connections would be appreciated!

Thanks again. AJ

As an additional note: one of the remote users is having this issue when sending new mail...Once "send" is clicked, Outlook will hang for like 10 minutes and then come back with an error about network problems preventing access to the Exchange server... AJ

Hi Achilleus,

I having nearly an identical problem that you are. I have remote users that can no longer connect to the office exchange server through Outlook. They get the 'network problems' error message as well. Have been able to find a solution for this? I have been searching for a couple weeks and still have nothing. If you have been successful, would you please post what you have learned? I would greatly appreciate it.

Phil

I had luck with adding a LMHOSTS entry for the Exchange server on remote users machines. Seemed to help. AJ
