Remote access trouble...

I read all of the older posts. I have tried all of the settings known to man with Hyperterminal, my office does not have ProComm Plus.

After trying all types of settings; one of the guys in the office said the past tech had to visit the site and reset the modem and/or port. Did he mean hit the reset button and log into the switch and do something with the tty port?

No matter what settings I use I get junk characters. I tried everything.

the fact that you are getting anything is a good sign the switch is send data.. if it's an 11 look at the switch setting on the faceplate of the ssc card.. 8 none and one or 7 even and one.. don't care for dyperterm.. emulations needs to be either 320 420 or vt 520... in procomm all of those are drop downs while your on line.. spend the 50 bucks, you'll save money on asprin

In my office the asprin cost less than 50 bucks so guess which way that's gonna go.
