We changed the Legato server name and have changed the servers file on all of our NT boxes. Most of them we have already re-booted to cause the servers file to reload, but I have about 10 boxes that are very hard to take down for any amount of time to re-boot. I was wondering if anyone out there has found a way to just reload the servers file. We are a hospital and up 24/7 and the servers that need to be changed are our medical record and pharmacy servers, so the down time is important.

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

You should not have to reboot at all. After you make your changes to the servers file with either an editor or by just copying in the new file, simply restart your NetWorker Remote Exec Service from the services box on each of the clients.

Usually, I will stop the service, make the edit, then start it back up. Works just fine.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. That took care of the problem, I even called tech support and they could not tell me that.

Great Forum!
