I think I messed up my Pix506E configuration. Luckily, I have a backed-up GOOD PIx506E configure file on txt.

My question is how do I load this Good Backed-up file back to my PIX so that my Pix start working again? Show me what command. Thank you

You should be able to paste the config into your terminal software. I use Token2, and it will let me paste from clipboard, an entire config, and run each line one at a time.

Make sure you erase the botched config first with the wr erase command. Then just paste in the new (old) one.

And just to chime in my two cents worth, don't forget to wr mem after you paste the new config in. Life sux when the config isn't saved and you accidentally loose power.

And just to cover it even more, after doing the write erase, do a reload, and choose not to configure with interactive prompts. Then paste your config in.

Otherwise you will simply merge your broken config with your backed up good config, which may or may not end up achieving what you're trying to do, depending on how much changed in the broken config.

thanks to all for your help.
May I ask one more question?

My internet conenction is currently working, by doing the reload new (old) config file, will my internet connection down during this reloading process?
Because other staffs in my company are working

Things will work fine after the wr erase command and up until you reboot, obviuosly then it will be down.
And until you reload the config, there will be a short period of time that your firewall is non-functional.

If you have the new config pasted into your buffer, all ready to copy, then you reboot it, downtime should be about one minute.

I follow the procedures as below:
1. wr erase
2. Reload, then it should ask me tochoose YES or NO to configure with interactive prompts. Then it did not give me a chance to type in NO. It ran down to the second line says " Error: Can not add new attribute"

I am stuck at this point.

Then my whole company crying over me because no internet for 15 minutes.

So I went back and redo like this:
1. wr erase
2. I paste the old (good) config file in
3. wr mem

Then internet went up again. However, I lost my PDM access
I can not use IE browser to access PDM anymore, it say page can not display.

Write erase, reload, answer no. If it doesn't let you answer no and goes to the next line, use CTRL+Z to break out of the interactive prompts. Paste in the config you have.

If it's an issue to do this during office hours, do it outside of office hours. Downtime should be about two minutes.
