Just upgraded a brand new IP500V2 out of the box that was at 7.0(5), to 8.0(18) and it didn't give me my virtual essential edition license, i have an alarm that no essential edition or upgrade license is present. I know I can get a free license to clear this but i shouldn't have to according to Avaya documentation. Has anyone else run into this and come up with a fix?

Downgrade to 7.0 and make some calls with it.
Then upgrade to 8.0.18 and you should get it.
Although i only tried it with a system that has an old VMPro license

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Downgrade back to 7.0. Hook up a couple of phones and make internal calls between them. Then try to make an external call and wait for the <Waiting for line> in the screen. Then upgrade again and it should fix your issue. I had the same problem and this fixed it.
