Guys,

Any comments on release 7? Installing a new system with a PRI and per cab.

I know of at least one installation where release 7 is causing audio loss on the phones. It happens like clockwork during a call...

On the voicemail topic,

firstly is it possible to have multiple extension forward to the same voicemail box? ( I have this working but using very long winded programming.)

Also how do you manipulate the digits sent to the embedded voicemail system, or any system for that matter? Is it even possible? This would be for the sake of creating "message waiting indicator" keys on extensions as sometimes the "extension" number of the voicemail is actually a hunt group or an acd path

Thanks

1st) I would use the *EXT solution here to forward multiple extensions to a specific mailbox. If you had 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 and 106 and you want them all to go into 101's mailbox, you can setup extension *101 and call forward (RNA or BUSY, OR BOTH) to *101. That would work there. I have to admit that *EXT solution is amazing and is an excellent posting.

2nd) I don't think you can manipluate what is sent to voice mail. The EMEM works with a basic API with the switch. The EMEM actually emulates a 4150 to the switch - yes that is how even Mitel does it. You would have to know how to change/modify the display prompts.

On the 3300 embedded voicemail you need to create a hunt group as #7000 then divert to VM. It will now go to mailbox 7000. don't no what system the * is for?

cheers

Mitelguy,

At the risk of sounding stupid could you confirm what I think is what I would have to do:

create dummy extension *xxxx. Then all extension you want to enable for centralised voicemail, call forward/reroute to this phantom extension/huntgroup(?). The phantom extension/huntgroup(?) always reroutes/forwardes to the voicemail system. This will push every call to "centralised voicemail enabled" into the *xxxx mailbox?

Thanks,
E

1) Create a phantom extension (*xxxx or xxxx for all that matters). The * does not matter at this point.

2) On the extension you just created (phantom) add the extension numbers (key line) to the phone, but place a * infront of them. I.e. Ext. 5901 becomes Key Line *5901.

3) Lets say you have extensions 3412, 3413, 3414 and you want them all to go into 5901 (from above), you would call forward them (or re-route) to *5901.

It's simple, yet confussing. Let me know if you need help. I don't mind at all.

As for Bearvalley, I have no idea what he/she is talking about. Probably got it in the head by a bear?

In my last post I used Key Line as the example, Key Line or Multicall are all the same for this example and you can use either or.

Thanks, will need to give it a bash before trying to understand the logic. Will let you know how it fares. Am travelling overseas at the mo, but when I get back home I will implement or at least try to implement for the client.

Regards,
E

Right now in the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo). Here for the week. Assisting in a E1 intergration into a Cisco which has gone on the blink

They do have one. The 3300 is connected to the cisco that connects to another cisco over an Infra Red link, which in turns connects to a GSM router via E1.

over here there is no land line infrastructure so just about everything is GSM
