Relay Pulsing Issue

Hi All.

I have a autodialing device hooked up to relay 2 on my IP406v2. I have a short code, *44, which uses the relay pulse feature, tel num 2 to trigger the contact. That all works fine. However, when I put logic in a voicemail pro callflow to open door #2, it doesnt work at all. Also, I tried using the goto logic for *44 and the transfer logic to *44 and neither of those seem to go there (because the contact never gets pulsed). Again, the hardware is hooked up properly because I can get it to pulse using *44 directly from any phone in our office.

Heres what my ultimate goal is:

When a call comes in to our out of hours pager, the contact gets pulsed on our autodialer and proceeds to dial out to an escalation list. If the first person doesnt respond and cancel the call out in time, the next person in the list is then called and given a message that there is a voicemail waiting.

I really need this to work but am unsure why VM Pro isnt doing this properly. Like I said earlier, I am on a IP406v2 with firmware 4.1(9) and VM Pro 4.1(27)

I'm not sure vm will like to transfer to anything other than a call.

You could try haning an extn diverted to *44 and transfer to that.

I think you will struggle with this. Why not use VM Pro escalation lists

Is that the same as the outcalling feature in the System Preferences or is that something that can be done at a programming level for each logic flow? I've never experimented with it before.

It is done on users and hunt group mailboxes but you need 4.0 and up. I use it for a few customers and they like it. you administer it from the mailbox TUI.

I also think from 4.2 it came be administered through phone manager but not checked that.

Try a post dial action to *44 which will then play a WAV file to the *44 destination. I am guessing that your *44 action may be dialed, but it is not holding open the connection long enough for the pulse to be registered, before disconnect. If you record a WAV file to be played to the *44 destination it will take the amount of time to play the WAV before hanging up. The call flow by the way does not need to transfer the caller to the *44 destination, it can go on in the flow as you set it up.

I use this to play WAV files on overhead paging systems to signify a call in a certain call flow to the entire overhead paging area. I have one that plays stairway to heaven every time a caller enters the away from desk call flow of the owner of the company. It kicks a post WAV file to overhead paging as soon as the call flow is entered prior to even ringing anywhere, so the owner knows to run to a phone and dial a pick up code when he hears "stairway to heaven over the PA" You can route the call as the WAV is posted, and the VMPRO keeps the connection to the ext open until the WAV file finishes playing.
