I plan on completely wiping the C Drive clean on my labtop using a floppy bootdisk. Before I do so. Is a regular Windows instalation CD bootable. If not, how would I put Windows back on? thanks.

Yes, Win2000 CD is bootable.

I think Win98SE onwards are straight bootable.
Assuming you're using a legit copy, you should have no problems with Win2000 or WinXP.

Make sure you're laptop is set to boot from the CD/DVD drive.

If you have a floppy disk, it can't hurt to make a boot disk as a fall-back!

If it is not a bootable copy and you can boot from floppy and access the CD, go to the I386 directory on the cd and type

winnt

Same goes for XP.
