On one of my PC's, I need to reinstall WIN98 without deleting my old files. I heard that you simply reinstall it on top of itself.
I tried this however, when I get to the "Running Windows for the First Time" screen, the Registry Checker suddenly pops up with an error and states it is replacing the registry with an old copy. Windows then boots but the setup never properly completes (i.e. Control Panel, etc. are not set up).
How do I stop the Registry Checker from rearing its ugly head?
Thanks
