Put in the Windows XP cd, and run (start->run) msconfig
Extract File Using msconfig:
Put your installation cd in. If you don't have a TEMP folder in the root of C: drive, create one. Now pull up msconfig. Now hit "Expand File". Place the file you wish to restore in the first box.
Now here's the tricky part...The file on on your cd may not have the same ".dll" or ".exe" extention as the one you want. It may look like ".dl_" or "".ex_"...you have to browse the cd to seek it out. Highlight it once you find it, and click okay.
Now browse to the Temp folder you created, click on "expand".
Rename the file from .ex_ to .exe, or to whichever extention it is, after it is expanded. Then place the file where it needs to be.
