Reinstall XP but keep data & Itunes intact

I have an XP SP2 pc - need to resintall the OS - if I choose to reinstall without formatting, will all my existing data stay as it is?

Will my applications, such as ITunes?

You want to do an in-place upgrade. This will keep your applications and data. You will lose service packs and hotfixes, so spend some time at Windows Update afterwards.

It goes without saying that it is always best to have a backup of your data, even if you do an in-place upgrade.
