Hi All

I think I have to re-install my whole IPO setup (too many issues with Media Manager, User Portal is barely working).
What is a proper way to do that with minimize downtime and restore all MM records?

I thought that I just need to make a full backup. Boot from media (we use bare-metal HW), ignite then restore.
But I've looked in to the backup set and there is only DB backup and config, no records. I'm afraid that copying /opt/vmpro/VRL won't be enough.

MM's records is the main issue, as VMPro and IPO configs can be restored from their own backup manually.

I have a Secondary server on the site. Not sure if it can help in MM reservation for reinstall.

During normal operation, your Media Manager recordings are moved from /opt/vmpro/VRL to the separate drive you configured for Media Manager. Its designed that way so that the storage of the recordings is totally separate from whatever you don on the drive hosting the other IP Office services.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I haven't separate hdd/partition for records.
Though documentation says:
Code:
"Media Manager is only supported when using an additional hard disk for storage of the recordings.
Storage on the same disk as being used for the Voicemail Pro and other IP Office applications is
not supported."

It works without it. Could it lead to a problems?

Could it lead to a problems?" - Yes, you've just found a big one. Reinstalling if it became necessary (such as was necessary for the 11.0.4 to 11.1 upgrade) would wipe your entire archive.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks for pointing. Well, installing the new drive is what I'll do.
But I don't get why that's a case. Not enough IO throughput?
If it confirmed to fail on the same drive (and fail how?), then there shouldn't be an option for such config or would be an red alert sign at least.

PS. My User Portal is broken for almost all users (1000) except two. I don't think it's related to MM archive place.
