Hi;
I've set up a standard image (w/ Norton Ghost) for a standard system that we'll be using in remote locations. I have a DOS Network boot disk, and the idea is that if the system tanks, the user can pop in the disk and it will reimage the drive, complete with apps and standard settings, without problem.
The caveat I've run into is PC name... how do I randomize the PC name so that I don't have 100 of the same name on the network? I can't really rely on the user to do this, and I can't use the unattended setup options because I already have drivers/apps installed. With Win2k I'd use sysprep, but I haven't found the comparable tool for Win95.
Any ideas, anyone? Please? :-D
