Where in the WinXP registry can I disable or enable hibernation and other power settings like prompt for password from standby or never turn off hard disks?
I want to apply several settings including these to multiple computers.

thanks

Any reason why you don't do this from the Control Panel?

Start > Control Panel > Power Options

To use Windows Power Options, you must have a computer that is set up by the manufacturer to support these features. For more information, see the documentation that came with your computer.

Registry location to check.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power

I'd like to do it in the registry, the reason being i configure a lot of computers new and old and I'm trying to create a script that will configure the settings I need done all in one sweep instead of doing everything manually all the time

A problem you'll run into is a lot of the settings are user specific. So you have to do it for each user. What I've done before is delete all the profiles except Local admin and mine. Then I'll set mine up the way I want everyone's to default. After that I login as local admin and copy my profile over to the Default profile. Now anyone that logs in gets what ever I set as their defaults.
