hi,
I wonna edit some key to the registry from dos (no need for regedit tool)
is there a way to do that from dos.

Presumably you want to modify or add a registry key and/or value. The easiest way is to modify a machine and export the subkey hierarchy that you interested in. You can then use that with Regedit from the command line to update another machine.

Bear in mind that this will be done using the credentials of the logged on user so they need to have the requisite permissions. Alternatively, use the schedule service which uses the Local System Account (by default anyway) to execute the batch job.

See the online help for more information.

hi markharr,

When I try do use the regedit from dos, I'll get a message telling me if I'm sure to import the file, and I don't want to see any message.

I s there a way to that transparently.

thank u for the help

Use reg.exe from the resource kit. This allows you to add, modify, delete a key. reg /? will get you the syntax. This is used to script registry changes on local or remote computers.
