I have the following registry problem.. In HKCR\TypeLib\ I have a large number of subkeys, all of which are owned by a particular user, and have SYSTEM and <user> with Full Control - Administrator's are not listed (and thus have no access). I can manually select every subkey, one by one, and take ownership, then reset the permissions, but this is tedious and would take me weeks. Is there a much faster way to do this?

I know you can set permissions on a key and say "Apply to all subkeys", but you can't do this with taking ownership, and since I don't own the keys (nor do I have access to them), I can't do it this way.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, no resolution to the original question.

I would like to know how you set the permissions on those registry keys. I just loaded up an NT4 machine to test some software and the user rights section is very limited.

I appreciate any help.
