Hello All,

We have an IP Office 500 9.0.2.0 build 860 phone system

Now i am trying to configure a conference phone (Avaya B179), thats all going well true the webinterface etc.
The ip office has a Avaya IP endpoint license and also a 3th party end point licence.

The problem i am facing is that i have problems getting this phone registered to the ip office.
Below i have some logging from the device:

This tutorial explains how to install an Avaya B179 SIP Conference Phone with IP Office. The tutorial is divided into two sections. The first section explains the settings that must be configured in the IP Office, and the second explains the settings that must be configured on the phone.
1) IP Office Settings:
• System > LAN1 or LAN2 > VoIP tab:
o Check SIP Registrar Enable
• License Tab:
o Install a valid Avaya IP Endpoint license (3rd Party IP/SIP Endpoint will not work)
• Create a new Extension:
o Add a valid Base Extension number
• Create a new User:
o Add a valid Name
o Add the Base Extension number that was previously created.
o Telephony > Supervisor Settings tab:
 Put the Base Extension Number in the “Login Code” field

2) B179 Settings:
• Phone Settings:
o Press Menu > Status > Network
 Set/Confirm the IP Address of the phone
 This address is used to log into the web interface of the phone.
 This can also be used to determine what address was given to the phone via DHCP.
• Web Settings:
o Enter the IP address of the phone into a web browser.
 Log-in with the default credentials
 User: Admin
 Password: 1234
o Settings > SIP
 Enable Account 1
 Account Name: This field controls what is shown on the display of the B179.
 User: IP Office Base Extension number
 Registrar: IP of LAN1 or LAN2 IP Office interface (whichever is used)
 Realm: *
 Authorization Name: IP Office Base Extension number
 Authorization Password: IP Office Base Extension number
 Save values
o Settings > Networking
 These fields are used for static address assignment scenarios, but can also be used to determine what addresses were obtained via DHCP.
 IP Address: Address of B179
 Net Mask: Subnet Mask of the network on which the phone resides
 Gateway: Local gateway on the network on which the phone resides
 DNS info can be manually specified if necessary
 Save values
 Reboot the phone and it should now register with the phone system.
3) Troubleshooting
• If you cannot make or receive calls, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
o Confirm the registration using IP Office Monitor:
 Open up IP Office Monitor and confirm it is connected to the IP Office.
 Click Status > SIP Phone Status
 The Status column should show “Registered”
 If the phone shows unregistered, go back through the steps above and re-type the values. Most registration issues are due to values not matching between the phone and IP Office.
 If the phone is not displayed in the SIP Phone Status menu, there is most likely a network related issue. If using DHCP, confirm phone is receiving its address properly. If using static address scheme, confirm with network administrator that all values are correct.

I have had to set TRANSPORT SETTINGS on my phone to use TCP
also STATIC IP ADDRESS

Thanks for your reply, the written steps in your post has already checked by me and i try several options to let it register but without success.
The 403 forbidden means that is succeeded contacting the ip office, so thats good but he reject the register option with a forbidden (why)

error 403 is usually a mismatch of either the user name or Password.

the password is the one set up in TELEPHONY- SUPERVISOR- lOGIN (THE GUIDE ABOVE SAYS USE THE BASE EXTN NUMBER thats because he has used that as the password)
enter your password.

Wrong username/password, SIP registrar not enabled?

Hello Guys,

I have the conference phone working, for some reason it did not accept the extension 7000.
For testing i just made a new extension for example 8578 and it registered.

Thanks all for the thinking.
