Hi,
I have trouble starting Informatica Service on Windows NT. Any help regarding this issue is much appreciated.

OS: Windows NT Server 4.0
PowerMart v4.7.2
DB2 v6

I created a DB2 database named 'PMC' with alias 'PMCA' and added a new DSN name for this connection with dsn name 'PMCA'. Then, I created a repository using Repository Manager. I named the repository as 'PMCA' and entered 'PMCA' for the Connect String and selected 'PMCA' for ODBC data source.

From the Server Manager, I connected PMCA Repository and a server 'temp_server' was automatically created for me with a message box 'Server Manager has registered a server for this repository. Please update the server information'. Hence, I edited the servername to 'localhost' and hostname to 'localhost'. I set the $PMRootDir to 'c:\program files\informatica\powermart server\'. After that I clicked 'OK' and got the following message:

"Failed to connect to server.
Request to update server localhost not successful."

Then, I entered the required parameters in the Informatica Server Setup page and started it and I got the following error:

"Could not start the Informatica service on \\hp4
Error 2140: An internal Windows NT error occurred."

Error in Event Viewer:
"ERROR: Server is not registered for the repository"

But the Server Manager had already registered a server (localhost). Anyway, if I try to re-register the server, it says

"User cannot register more than one server in a local repository."

Please advise....

Thanks,
Madhan Mohan.
