I have a set of 4610s that do not give the option * to reset/reprogram. Password reset doesnt work.

They arent finding the 46xxsettings file from the TFTP server.
I have 4610s and 4620s running on the same system.

Error message displayed - NO FileSV
Then the timer for the DHCP runs infinite if I let it.

They get POE from the switch, not sure what other information is relevant.

How do I get these phones to find the Fileserver - settings file?

I'm still trying to figure this out.
I got some outside help, or better yet analysis.
We sent one of the phones to a technician and when he pluged them into his system they booted right up.
Not sure whether or not he's using IP Office or Definity (he hasnt replied to my email as yet).

Re: bas1234 last post. I have executed this command.
I am no longer getting the NoFileSrvr error message.

I've been fooling around with the 176 settings on my DHCP, not sure if i'm closer or further away from getting these phones working.
Now the phones go through the booting process like this:
-100 mbs ethernet (no * to program)
-VLAN ID = 2
-then it jumps to the TFTP server boot process, skips the HTTP booting process(that's what the working phone does).

After TFTP time out, it displays Discovering xx.xxx.xx.x (MCIPADD)

The technician I sent the phone to sent me this configuration set up for the router he was using.

ip dhcp pool dhcp-voip
network 10.xx.x.x 255.255.255.0
dns-server 10.xx.xx.xx
domain-name ascglobal.local
default-router 10.xx.xx.x
option 172 ascii "configHttpSrvr=10.xx.xx.x"
option 176 ascii
"MCIPADD=10.xx.xx.xx,MCPORT=1719,TFTPSRVR=10.xx.xx.x,VLANTEST=0,L2QAUD=5,L2QSIG=3"
lease 365

How do I access this config on my system?
& How do I check the IP helper statement in my data switch?

I would really appreciate some help, this is not my area of expertise however I am the one man IT team.

nnickgm, have a look here.

bas1234, thanks for responding, however I'm not using IP Office.
Im using a Definity system - Avaya G700

This explains the process a bit...
How do I view the current configuration on my Cisco router?

There seems to be something amis in my config.

I thought there was some other configurations other than what is fond in the window display for the DHCP.

Correct me if i'm wrong those are the only configs for a Windows DHCP.

Something is blocking these phones from accessing the fileserver.

Found a work around to this problem. I got seven out of ten of them to work.

Realised the phones were actually getting settings from the DHCP via the data VLAN however they were not hitting the voice VLAN. So I placed the location of the call server and the fileserver in the data scope of option 176.

Three of the phones however now display DHCP conflict.
I will look into that and post my findings.

It was just a fluke, plugged them in the next day and they were fine.
