How can I have my pages refresh once and only once? Not once every second or anything like that.

Hi mate,

Because of the fact that your pages are being reloaded, the browser is going to see the refresh code again and execute it. I see quite a few problems with this.

The only way that I can think of to acheive this is to set a cookie when the page first loads and only allow the page to be refreshed if that cookie is not present when the page reloads.

If anyone else has any better suggestions, feel free to add them..

Hope this helps Wullie

Hi Johnas,

Have you tried the refresh meta-tags?
<META HTTP-EQUIV=&quot;Refresh&quot; CONTENT=&quot;3;URL=http://www.some.org/some.html&quot;>

As you se there is the possibilty to have a redirect to a page that would not be refreshed.

Additional information about this tag is available at:

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

xso
