I tried but couldn't find this question answered.

Can you delete all partitions of a HD including the system partition and then load Windows XP on?

Do I need a floppy with fdsk on it or will the Windows XP just ask me if I want to create a new partition?

Thanks,

John

If you have a Windows XP cd-rom you should be okay, just boot from it. Go through the prompts where it will then ask you about partitioning. In that screen you can delete and create them for use with Windows XP.

Thanks for the tip.

It said, "You may not want to delete this last partition if it contains system information/configuration. You may have to install Win XP on the HD before you can use it."

I deleted all partitions and then created a brand new one booting from the Windows XP disk.

Windows walked right through everything from then on and Windows was there.

I tried to install Linux the other day but without success.

Thanks,

John
