W2K Domain

In one Site I have a single DC. Logins are slow because of the message, "applying personal settings...."

Checked Events on DC it looks like the delay is because the clientsare trying to get a policy from a domain that doesn't exist.

The error references an old child domain that was removed along time ago.

Windows cannot connect to sub.domain.com with (0x0)

Any ideas on how to completely remove all refernences to this removed domain?

Policies are stored in 4 places in the registry. I would check the registry and remove the old policies from there.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

I see nothing that references the old sub domain. I've also tried using the ntdsutil to locate something.

How about your DNS servers?
