I am using excel 2010

In tab 1 am using something like ='tab2!B2 and it works, I then use ='tab2!B3 (by keying in formula or using autofill dragging down) on next cell down and it brings in SAME data not the data in cell B3!!!!! I have seen this happen a couple of times in last year or so. What is going on?

You may have manual recalculation turned on

If so pressing F9 will force a manual recalculation and should give the correct results.

Unless there is a good reason for manual calculation you can turn on automatic recalculation using the Calculation Options in the Formulas tab in the Ribbon.

Cheers

I found an answer before your reply which seemed to work. Even though the rows od data appeared to be formatted the same, further down the formula worked so i just deleted the first 10 rows. Weird it worked as all rows appeared to be same
