IS-IT--Management
Need some advice:
Our company has multiple locations, with an Exchange server at each site. All outbound mail flows out of the Front-End server in our Dallas office.
Management has asked us to provide some redundancy by placing a Front-end server in our Houston office (they have their own connection to the internet)
If I place another Front-end server in Houston, and configure a new Internet Mail connector in System Manager with the newly created Front-End server in Houston as the smart-host, is this enough to give me the outbound redundancy?
If for some reason the Internet connection in Dallas goes away, and the Front-End server in Dallas cannot deliver a message - will it be sent to the other Internet Mail connector? Is there anything that I'm missing?
Additionally, since we are adding another FE server in Houston, I would like to have redundant OWA access. We already have an SSL certificate on the Dallas FE server. If we use Round-Robin DNS for OWA, can I use this same certificate?
