After taking care of this system for more than 7 years, this disturbing question occured: how do I know which CPU is 0 and which one is 1?

This is an ICS turbo, and there are 2 processor blocks on top of each other. Somebody at the time of installation (I think) used a marker and marked the bottom one wtih "1" and the top one with "0".

Then someone else came along, and not noticing these marks, placed a "0" on the bottom one (right by the floppy drive).

When I use the CMOD command, it tells me that "0" side CPU is active. I go look at the OPE lights, and the top CPU's CPUOPE light is on solid. This would confirm the first marker: the top unit is "0".

Then I open the System Operations Manual on page 106-1, and a figure marks the bottom one as "0".

Huh?

Anybody with a surefire answer on this?

Well, if CMOD is saying that 0 is operational, the one showing processor load (a number) is the one being used; the one showing SbY (Standby) is CPU1.

Just my 2¢

If the NEC 2400ICS was set up properly then CPU 0 should be on the bottom and CPU 1 should be on the Top. Nec likes to start from bottom to top and starts with a 0 then works its way up. Look at the display like gbaughma stated!

OK, I'm afraid, my system is backwards: CMOD says side 1 is ACT, and side 0 is STBY. Go look at the switch: the bottom has the CPUOPE light solid on, and the top CPU has its light off. It also has its GT0 light flashing.

So looks like my side 1 is at the bottom.

Btw: I don't have a display that shows the CPU usage. I only some numbers flashing on the EMA card, which also shows me which side is active (o or 1).
