Hi all,

we've recently increased our DHCP scope available IP address range. However, we've increased it too far and now would like to reduce it. However, when we reduce the range we get a message disallowing us from doing it because it's only possible to work in 32 address increments.
Reducing by only a few addresses brings the same message up.
We're working on a B class subnet and have increased from xx.xx.1.250 to xx.xx.10.250 and would really like to drop back to xx.xx.2.250.

Any thoughts on how we go about reducing the DHCP scope.

Thanks for any suggestions offered.

The only thought that comes into mind is to blow the scope away are redo it.

Thanks for responding comtec, that's what I feared.

Cheers.

Try this. Leave the scope as it is and exclude the range of addresses you don't want to use.

Thanks Curious, we did consider doing that except in an attempt to narrow the scope, one of the lads has set it to xxx.xxx.255.255 which we are going to have to trash and start over again.

Thanks for any suggestions.
