Is there a way to reduce my CRT monitor video quality to appear as though it were a CRT television display?

I've got some pc games that were first released on console and i'd like to play them as they did on the television.

My video card (TI4200 - 64MB) doesn't seem to have an option for it, unless i completely missed it. I'm running windows XP.

I thought this would be an easy thing to search online but I guess there aren't many who want to reduce their video quality.

You can never get the same picture from a CRT monitor !!!
A monitor contains far mor pixels than a TV (around twice) to make the picture and text look sharp, if you want the same resolution as your TV (or any TV) go to Display properties and change the resolution to the lowest (ie 640x480) if it's possible... the resolution of a normal screen is around 750x520 but you will always get jaggerd edges on your CRT because of it's high res.

well this is what i had wondered.

i read that CRT tv screens have only horizontal scanlines and that monitor screens have both horizontal and vertical scanlines. i could be wrong. is there maybe a plugin or something that can make my monitor/graphics card output only horizontal scans?

i'd like to get my resolution down to 640*480, but that would require uninstalling my graphics card apparently as it only goes down to 800*600.
