I have a word 97 doc.

It was copied to a 2000 word file, then it was edited, now when comparing the two documents (redlining) I get undesirable and inaccurate results,

the comparison grows to 120 pages from an original 40 pages. things that were not deleted are now red lined. It seems to become inacurate at page four and continues.

Does anyone have any experience with this???

Thanks, Ron

Shelron,
I don't know if this will help or not. I have found that files that have "Track Changes" turned on in a previous version (not accepted/rejected yet); and converted to a newer version; do not allow you to complete the track changes process.

I have learned that to avoid the problem, I always complete the track changes process in the version they were started in. Then upgrade to the newer one. Doing it this way, my files don't seem to be affected.

Sorry, not going to help you now; maybe in the future. Hopefully someone else has a solution.

I found the problem with this,,, an embedded spreadsheet was causing some kind of error, removed the spreadsheet and the redline function worked properly???

Thanks, Ron
