It's a minor nuisance but sometimes I just get to see a popup in time to watch it fade away! I am not talking about windows notifications - like 'new updates available' - I have already increased the display time for these. I am talking about Skype say - telling me a friend is online maybe - but who? Or what triggered me to write this was something about a survey! At least that's what I think it said.

Is it possible to get these re shown? Somehow I doubt it.

Probably all you can try doing is to login again to the originating web site and see if any message is regenerated. It would be up to the web site how long a message displayed. Usually they remain on screen until you exit and close them or click on their link?

In the Event Viewer you might be able to locate in the Application logs, any "Application Popups" from Applications that display messages on screen.

Not with Skype, it's a triggered event in the configuration. It's set to show when a friend has signed in, when it detects this, a small pop up windows appears to notify you. The trigger has already happened so it can't do it again.

If you are talking about Skype, the Notification should be displayed for 10 seconds by default. If you miss that notification then you might be able to pick it up (who came online) via selecting only the online Contacts to be displayed? You can also select a Sound for incoming Contacts.

There might be a Registry setting to increase the Display Time, perhaps someone in the Skype Forum can help you.

Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Ease of Access Center -> Make it easier to focus on tasks -> Adust time limits and flashing visuals -> Pick your time from select box

Thanks guys - as I feared - can't be done. It's not just Skype - although its annoying if you miss it - as you don't know who just came online! It's the odd ones that seem to catch my eye on their way out - rather than on their way in. Windows own notifications can of course be changed in the length of time they display. Oh well worth asking and thanks again. Maybe on Windows 9 they will add a 'what was that last popup? button - LOL
