I would like to rediscover all the clients in our site. Reason: We have upgraded our network to 100 and are now using v-lans. After the upgrade we lost many of our clients. Now I would like to attempt to REdiscover all clients in SMS. I am hoping to isolate the problem, and getting a better baseline to begin troubleshooting. Can this be done? Note: I am new to SMS 2.0, I have been working with SMS for 5 days.

Any help is appreciated

Jake

Do you have défined the new v-lan in your site properties. You have to defined the boundaries of the network you want to managed...
So you could review the clients you have lost.

Have a nice day

I have configured the site boundaries for the site. Unfortunately the clients that are NOT seen do not belong to the same subnet. Rather, they are spread across different subnets which we can see. In a nutshell I am attempting to determine if this is a v-LAN problem, SMS problem or a combination of both. Thanks in advance.

When i haved this problem the pc in the vlan start to install the SMS client but because the boundaries for that vlan was not defined the install was not good. At this time the thing i do is to removed the SMS client from this pc (manually) and when i restart the pc the SMS client install was OK and full fonctionnal.....

If this can help you...

Happy new year!

OK, I have a really dumb question. I have the boundaries setup by subnet it looks like this…xxx.xxx.x.0. Is this the right format?

Find out from your network admin all the subnets you will need to cover. Yes, the subnet is in the form of an IP address.
