A few quick questions regarding remote notification.

I have a G3si running ver 12 software. We're currently using an Avaya BP for maintenance, but I want to turn off notification to them when there are alarms. It's a long story.

I'd like to re-direct the notification to myself regarding any problems so I can decide whether or not to bring in the BP.

I changed the phone number in System Maintenance, inserted the phone number to my direct dial desk phone and changed the notification level to "WARNINGS." I then busied out an IP phone (to create a Warning), but got no call. What did I miss? Also, could a pager number be used? What info. is transmitted?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

warnings do not go out on inads....try to create a minor alarm for example....add an fake cabinet and ipsi to your system it'll alarm out....

A reset system 1 will send a warning out through INADS

You can configure your Avaya site administration to notify you via email on alarms. It must be running all of the time in order to get them.

Thank you to everyone who responded. AS for Row1030's suggestion, I used to have an old laptop that ran ASA and would e-mail me with alerts, but it died recently. Time to find another almost dead system to press in to service. Thank you again.
