If I had a second NIC in a server, that was a Gigabit NIC, AND assuming that the Gigabit Card was on the same switch as my backup machine, is there a way to tell the remote agent which IP address to use??

(Picture one subnet for regular LAN access, and one subnet used only for backups, on an all Gigabit Switch)

Any Idea's???

Did you try to use static mapping through WINS (preferred) or LMHOSTS file to point to the IP addresses of the Gigabit cards on the media server and the remote agents? Then at the media server you can create User Defined Shares in the form \\server1, \\server2

Backup Exec 9.0 allows you to specify which IP address to perform the network backup over. I dont believe earlier versions do.

Cheers
