Please help,
I have been working on this wu-ftpd problem for some time and have ran out of ideas. Our redhat linux 7.2 box is hosting ftp (using wu-ftpd) on a NIC with IP 66.192.236.198 (on our companys DMZ) and we can ftp on the machine itself. However we can not ftp off our LAN. When I try I get "ftp connect: unknown connection error" (after waiting for awhile).
The network guy said that he traced packets through our firewall coming in on 66.192.236.198 so they are getting through the firewall but he does not know where they are going from there. I checked ftpaccess, ftpusers, /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd and all files seem correct. Like I said, I have just about ran out of ideas and ANY help would be GREAT. Thanks in advance.

hi,
you might want to check whether ftp is actually runningon the linux box first. use the command
/sbin/chkconfig wu-ftpd on
to turn on the ftp daemon.
hope this helps
