I have a copy of Red Hat Linux 6.1 which I would like to load on an HP Pavilion 6640C. I have determined it has a SiS530 video card. According to the RedHat site this is not a supported card. Any sugestions. [sig][/sig]

Give it a try anyway, but don't set up X until after you have got RedHat installed and working OK. That way, you won't be stuck in the install routine, and maybe hanging your machine in the process, trying to get X working.

I've had X running on an older SiS video chipset using the SVGA X server without any problems. However, if you do have problems then it would probably be worth shelling out a few pennies on a cheap PCI card. I have a copy of Corel Linux. It is supposed to support the Sis530 card. I think I may give it a try. Any comments, suggestions? [sig][/sig]
