Redhat 9 on SATA drive, possible?

I just got a new SATA drive and I want to install the Redhat 9 into it but it seems that it can't see the drive. How can I install the Linux into the SATA drive?
 
How can I rebuild the kernel during the installation phase?
 
To the best of my knowledge, there is no SATA support in the version of the Linux 2.4 kernel which ships with RedHat 9.

In short, you're not going to get SATA going on install.

You might try Fedora Core 2 -- it ships with the 2.6 kernel, which should have support for SATA.

Well the Intel D875PBZ Mobo funilly enough has Sata and raid support for Linux on their website. Might work on other bords as well. Regards
