Think I might have accidentally gotten RedHat 8.0 to work right with the CT69000 chipset.
After installing, the machine would go through it's normal lockup bit when in gnome.
Tinkered a while, got machine in text/command mode, edited the XF86Config, added two lines under Device section for the CT69000, NoAccel and there was no reference as to Video Memory from setup, so added that with 2048.

I then went down to I think Screen and changed default color depth from 16 to 8 and also in default screen settings.
Seems to work fine so far, burning it in for over a day now.

If anyone needs to see the config file, let me know.

Wooohooo. This would be an awesome fix. Can you indicate if it is still lockup-free? I'm having the same problem with RH8 (haven't tried 9 - anyone else?).

Any add'l thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes, still lockup free.
I have a second NEI WebEngine that I have installed RH9 on about a week ago, no mods to the install, works like a champ.....
Yeeee Haaaaa
