I need to redact confidential info from a scanned PDF then save minus this info.

Any ideas?

I know I can covert to word redact info then re save but new saved version misses some other info.

I am looking for a way to do this in acrobat itself so I only loose the parts I want.

All help is greatly appreceated.

Thanks

First of all, Acrobat 8 has a redaction tool. So if this is something you do all the time, you should consider upgrading. Since you say the PDF was scanned, I'm assuming it's an image PDF. Do you have a way to OCR it? I'm not sure if Acrobat 6 can do it. I know that version 7 on can. You could also OCR it using OmniPage pro so some other program. Once it's OCRed you can use the highlight tool to redact it. You would use black as the highlight color. Once everything is highlighted you would need to print to PDF again using Print as Image because text highlighted in black is still there and someone would be able view it. Also when printing make sure you printing Document and Comments (which includes the highlighting).

Thanks Ben
Do you know of a good OCR that works well on both handwritten anlong with typed documents that are scanned, or a good document management program for archiving?
