What does the red highlight text bar mean behind my new text? I get that once in awhile... Is my font installed?

...if you mean more a light pink, then yes the font is missing...

...go to type > find font to list those fonts that are missing...

...missing fonts will have a yellow triangle next to them in the find font dialog...

...they will also appear in brackets in your character palette font list...
