Red Hat Enterprise 4

Hi, Everyone

I just finish installation red hat enterprise 4 es. And when I tried to login I get the folllowing error "root logins are not allowed" I know I'm typing the password right. I don't know what would be the problem.

Any ideas.

Have you tried logging in as another user, then using "su" to become root?

This problem is right after the installation I don' have any other users on the system yet. I din't create any during the installation.

ok, press <shift><control>F1 and login as root
create a new user with useradd
press <shift><control>F7 to login as the new user
modify the X login in order to give permissions to root to login in init 5.

Yes, and still dosent work. The extrange thing is that I din't install the gui and now is showing up

it works now. Funny I just got off the phone with red hat support ( we have standard support ) and they din't know this, they wanted me to put the cd in and go do some other things
