red hat 7.3 installation question

Hi all, i 'm very new to linux,

i just installed linux 7.3 using the graphical mode, i followed all the steps according to the manual, but when the installatin was completed and the system rebooting for the first time, i got a the word "grub" and the system won't boot , ??

any ideas why that happened ? or where to go to get more info

Hi,

It would seem that the loader does not really know where the "/" really is. Did you do an automated install or did you use Disk Druid ?

The first couple dozen installs you sould use the automatic install. You will get the hang of this.

yes, i did use the automated install

i tried this like 7 times >>

i even used automatic partition, i'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not ..

any more hints ?

Maybe try lilo instead of grub.
