Hey Everyone,
I have a really quick dumb question for you. What is the best way for getting rid of red eye in photoshop. Would it just be zooming in and touching up with the clone stamp or is there a quick easy way to do this?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Tim

One way that's pretty easy is to create a new layer, then paint over the red eye with a cyan colored brush. (RGB cyan is one of the default colors... kind of looks bright blue) Change the brush size and everything to fit of course. Then change the layer property of your cyan "dots" to multiply. Buh Bye red eye!

Let me know if I need to clarify any of that! LOL

Good luck. Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

You could also use the sponge tool to desaturate the red as there is usually very little colour around the iris anyway. You can skin this particular cat many ways.

I use an out-and-out 'cheat'.

My wife's Sony laptop came with EZphoto installed. That lets you simply lassoo (quite roughly) the region where the eyes occur, then click on red-eye removal. All done! Then I open Photshop to do the serious work.

Oops!

That article refers to Photoshop Elements, not to Photoshop as such. Perhaps I am going to have to buy Elements as well.

Color Dodge/Burn works well too, just use a new layer to be safe.

Select the circular marquee and hold shift while making a circle around the red. Then press Ctrl-U for changing the Hue/Saturation, click on the colorize clickbox and use numbers:
0
0
-100

This will make the pupil totally black
