Hello colleagues,

I have problem with red dongle for hicom. I am trying to add codeword, but the system is saying "wrong HW-id".
Do i need special codewords generated for my HW-ID or all red dongles are using the same codewords, or may be i have other problems with the system, which i don't know?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
You need to DIS-CODEW; to see the current Hardware ID (HW-ID)
It may also be seen on the paper sticker on the Red Dongle.
The dongles are date dependent - please DIS-DATE; to see if the time/date is correct, if not then CHA-DATE to correct.
If it still does not take the Codeword you will need to update it
Or the SEBA portal

Hi Sbcsu,
Thank you for your response.
I've checked the date and time, also the HW-ID of the dongle. Date is ok. The HW-ID is the same in dis-codew; like the one written on the dongle.
I don't have access to the SEBA or to But i saw in another post about different codewords for red dongle, for different Hicom versions, which files are not accessible any more.
Is it the same codeword used for diffrent HW-ID's on the Red dongles or each dongle need its own codeword?

Hi,
Yes there are different codewords for different HiPath versions.
You can not just take a red dongle from one version and put it on another without a new codeword.
However the system you got it from - it should still work on that.

Thank you Sbcsu,
All clear now.
