Hey All,

I'm experiencing a number of users receiving mails a number of times, nearly every hour.

Ive tracked the message and it appears that it is getting delivered not once, but a number of times from the categorizer.

This is starting to become more of an issue as more users are experiencing this problem.

I'm running E2k SP2 on a W2k Server SP2. Clients are running OL2000 sr1.

Many thanks,

GB

Did you ever find out the reason you were having the problem. I am having the same one and I think it relates to the smtp protocal and it not being RFC compliant. I don't think it sends the closing response to the server correctly, so it keeps trying to send the message. If you have found a resolution to the problem please let me know.

I wish!!!

I'm still having the problem so if anyone can shed any light on this, it would be greatly appreciated!!

cheers

See if you have mailguard enabled. It is a security mechanism that only allows 7 smtp commands to pass through the firewall. If someone you are sending mail to has a fully RFC 821 compliant e-mail server then it is possible that they are not able to receive the correct command from your e-mail server because the pix is not letting the command come through therefore the sending e-mail server does not know that the mail has been deliverd so it keeps trying to deliver it. Unfortunanly the mailguard feature is a all or 7 feature. Either you are less secure and let all smtp commands through the firewall or you are more secure and only let seven through. You might try disabling the feature and see if this solves your problem.
