Does anyone know how to re-create the IPC$ share on a Windows 2000 server?

What is the problem? Are you trying to access a share remotely? How?

Yeah, a little more detail would help. Thanks. Glen A. Johnson

I get the following error when trying to browse to this server: "The server is not configured for transactions".

Microsoft says the the Admin may choose to share the server's IPC$ resource to correct the problem but I can't figure out how to do that. If you go to Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Shared Folders/Shares you are able to share files and folders but I can't figure out how to share the IPC. You can use Poledit or Regedit to reshare Administrative shares but I don't think IPC is included. Maybe it is but I haven't found it in any documentation.

Thanks

Is this server on the same local network as you?

Daniel

Yes, this server is on the local subnet.

My only experience with the IPC$ share was trying to access a database remotely while logged into a different domain. I couldn't figure it out; I ended up logging into the same domain as the database server and the error went away.

I don't know how/if it applies to your situation. Sorry

Daniel
