I'm trying to rebuild the index to a backup that spans 2 tapes where the data has expired via scanner -iv \\.\tape0
It found the bootstrap at the beginning, but I cannot still see what is on there in Networker User.

It looks like I am running into errors with Legato not being able to read after file 5 on the first tape. What options are there to recover as much as I can from the tape?

I hope that you did not (accidentally) relabeled the tape.

You can still try to recover the whole save set (to a temporary location) using "recover -S ssid".

dont use the -iv, just run scanner to read the whole tape..

"scanner \\.\Tape0"

if it only shows a bootstrap be worried, but it should read from the start to the end of the tape and show all savesets on the tape...

then you can use the ssid's to get the data back as 605 has stated or via scanner and uasm

thanks for the tips...I'll give it a try
