Recovering .exe files removed from mail by Outlook 2002? 1

I have lost a couple of files because Outlook will not allow through .exe file attachments. Is there any way I can find and retrieve them. WinXP, Outlook 2002.

Not sure about WINXP but the following registry edit works on 2000, you can have a look and see if it is any use.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Security]
"checkadminsettings"=dword:00000001

Add any other extensions you also want access too.
