I slaved a WD HD running XP home to a Samsung HD running XP Pro to copy data. At reboot, the computer finds the new hardware but when I go to My Computer or Windows Explorer, the slave HD is not found. BIOS displays the WD HD. Checked jumper settings also. What am I missing?

THanks for any help! Bob

Hi linney,
Sorry for the delay in replying but wife was in a car accident & have been busy shopping for a new car with her. Wife is fine other than a small bruise where the seat belt buckle was. To answer your ?, I copied what I thought were pertinent files for back-up. I see the client tomorrow to slave the not bootable HD to his & will transfer all files to his new HD if asked. If he wants it bootable, I'll work more but for now, I'm quitting while I'm ahead.
Thanks once more for all your help! As usual, you & Ben have been a fountain of information. Keep up the great work.

LilBob - Glad to hear that the wify is doing fine...

and thanks for the compliments... if the customer is happy with the new drive and the data is copied over from the old to the new. I would suggest that you go ahead and NUKE the drive (DBAN - Darik's Boot and Nuke Disk wipe utility), and reformat it, then leave the drive as extra storage, e.g. for BackUp of the OS, in case similar things happen...
