Hi,

I've a problem [sad] by recovering an Windows 2003 Server.
facts: NetworkerServer is as FSC Networker on Solaris Version 6.1a
Networker-Client is a FSC RX 300 with MS Windows 2003 Enterprise and NetworkerClient Version 6.1.3.Build.428
After recovering the System the Server came up, but there are errors in the eventlog.
1. Netop isn't able to start
2. there is a DCOM error

Do you have any ideas, why there are problems?

Thank's for answering

Harfe

Hello Harfe,

you should back up the MS 2003 Server with Networker Client 7.x. The Version 6.1.3 don´t support MS 2003!
On Windows 2003 Server is a new system saveset named ASR: . This will be needed for a recovery of the server and will not be saved with a networker client lower 7.x.

I've installed the Client Version 7.1, but I cann't restore the system correctly. Now I've found, that the directory %systemroot%\WinSxS was not correctly backed up. I can copy this directory without any problems. If I move the original directory to the restored system, I can start it without any problems.

Does anybody have an idea?

thanx to all anwsers.

Harfe

You did not mentioned why were those directories not correctly backed up, what were the errors, did you try ASM save sets, there are also system state:\, system files, and system db: to worry about, you must also provide what steps are you taking to recover the server in detail.
